FAQ

Is it safe to use your site to give money?
We use
Stripe to accept your gift contributions.

”Millions of companies of all sizes—from startups to Fortune 500s—use Stripe’s software and APIs to accept payments, send payouts, and manage their businesses online.” – Stripe.

Platforms such as Kickstarter, Go Fund Me, Indiegogo, Seed and Spark and more, all use Stripe to collect donations.

What information do you share with Stripe?
We do not store credit card information. By default, we end up with the last four digits of your credit card number and expiration date. Any and all other information is passed on to Stripe during transaction through the industry standard encrypted methods.

What will you do with my information?
We respect your privacy. We will not sell or share your information to anyone. Ever.

How will you spend the gift you collect?
Our plan is to submit to about 100 plus film festivals, globally, by the end of 2024. Each festival submission fee roughly ranges from $20 to $80 or more depending on the festival.

Money raised will go towards festival submissions and related technical & marketing provisions for the festivals that accepts us into their programs. These provisions range from promotional materials such as posters and photos, to creating and providing DCPs (Digital Cinema Package for theater projection), Open Caption Subtitles, and shipping. The demands and requests vary from one festival to another.

Why are you not using a fundraising platform such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, GoFundMe or the like?
Most of the fundraising platforms come with rules and restrictions, such as, unless we raise 80% of our goal amount, we will not have access to the funds that you’ve gifted, and the money will be returned. That’s not the kind of risk that we want to take. They also take a cut of funds raised.

Our support base is growing, and we want to provide continued opportunity for our fans to support us until the festival season is done for our film. That would be the end of 2024.

What if I want a refund?
Please make a measured decision before deciding to give, as there will be no refunds offered. Please also note, by giving, you are gifting your money to us. You are not acquiring any creative or monetary rights to the film, now or in the future.

Is my gift tax-deductible?
No, we are not a non-profit organization. In general, the funds raised here is considered taxable income. Your gift is considered as “
something given out of ‘detached and disinterested generosity’ for personal reasons and without the expectation of getting something in return.” – Kickstarter.
